About

Bio

Born in 1983 in Athens (Peristeri), Greece. Entered the Department of Informatics in AUEB, in 2001. Graduated 4 years later (summer 2005), after receiving basic knowledge, having the ambition to combine computer science with biology and medicine.

In September 2005, I was given the chance to pursue a Ph.D in Bioinformatics at University of Peloponnese under the supervision of Professor George Lepouras. My research was financially supported by the GSRT under the PENED 2003 framework.

Since September 2009, I work as a postdoctoral associate in the Institute for Computational Biomedicine of Weill Cornell Medical College in the Elemento lab.

Hobbies and likings...

In my spare time I enjoy TV series (Prison Break, House MD, Lost, Monk, Poirot, Friends), books and cinema. I have a strong liking for travelling (so far I've been to Italy, France, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Finland, Slovenia, United Kingdom and United States).
I sponsor one child in Tanzania through ActionAid (consider doing it yourself as well).
